How It Works
Navigate to Chart of Accounts
Go to Settings β Chart of Accounts in your Coincile dashboard.
Click Import COA
Select your accounting software: Xero, QuickBooks, or NetSuite.
Authenticate
Connect with your accounting software organization securely.
Review & Import
Review the accounts to import, then confirm to complete the migration.
What Gets Imported
- Account codes - Your existing numbering system
- Account names - Full account descriptions
- Account types - Asset, Liability, Equity, Revenue, Expense
- Account status - Active/archived state
- Tax types - Associated tax configurations (where applicable)
Mapping to Coincile
Imported accounts are automatically mapped to Coincile account types:

Post-Import Options
After importing, you have full control to customize your chart:
- Edit accounts - Modify names, codes, or types
- Add sub-accounts - Create additional hierarchy levels
- Archive accounts - Hide unused accounts
- Re-import - Update from your accounting software if your chart changes
Prerequisites
To use Import COA:
- Connected Accounting Software - Your Xero, QuickBooks, or NetSuite organization must be connected in Coincile
- Appropriate Permissions - Your user needs access to the Chart of Accounts in your accounting software
- Organization Admin - You need admin rights in the Coincile organization
